Behind the village of Tarambados, you will find  a green valley scattered with dovecotes! The island of Tinos is knownfor these wonderful pigeon houses found in the hinterland of the island. Probably introduced by the Venetians, they made up an important part of the islanders’ livelihood. Though no longer much in use, they are a trademark of Tinos and one of its most beautiful elements of Tinos!
