August Full Moon on Aegina

The team of Synergy of Art, on the occasion of the August full moon, presents for the first time an original dance theater happening entitled “ENERGY 29 km. Southwest” in the archaeological site of the Temple of Aphaia in Aegina on Saturday, August 29, 2015. The event will take place under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and carried out by a collaboration of Antiquities West Attica, Piraeus and Islands, and the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Athens and the Folklore Museum of Aegina.

This unique happening attempts to unite the spiritual energy of the temple of Aphaia with the organic energy of the peanut trees that bear fruit in the land of Aegina. This is a performance-installation, which aims to shed light on the relationship between man and his spiritual heritage, recalling values ​​and bringing a spirit of renaissance for women and love. By this way, this happening honors the power of the female, such as traveling in time through archetypes and beliefs, awakening consciousness and symbolizing fertility.

The show is inspired by archetypal symbols, natural phenomena and images, such as the seed, the tree of life and knowledge, the circle, the spiral, the Taoist symbol of yin-yang, the elements of light, water, land and air. Also, references are made to forms and entities, derived from Ancient Greek mythology, such as: Nymphs, Muses, Mires, Ancient Heroines (Cassandra, Medea). The ritualistic choreography that is dedicated to the energy and spirit of Aphaia, honoring and integrating both the visible and the invisible, embracing the light and the darkness. Through this process, the show aims to emphasize the concept of holistic transformation and expressing the evolutionary process of the human soul from birth to death, exploring the boundaries beyond the barrier of belief.

The artistic happening “ENERGY 29 km. Southwest” occurs consecutively on three sides of the temple. The audience goes along with the action of artists with input special lighting and guidance of volunteers who ensure the smooth and safe passage of viewers around the temple.

The show gives particular emphasis on precision lighting through video art and projections, as well as the high quality of the sound coverage and music performance. Projections show the water element, referring to the passage of Aphaia from the sea, and the element of light, which revokes the binding of goddess temple.
