The Jury will bestow awards on films from the International Competition section, enhancing the event’s international character. In this year’s edition, a total of 210 films will be screened. The Greek Competition of the 38th Greek Short Film Festival in Drama comprises films that, although varied in the thematic and aesthetic approaches, create a multi-faceted portrait of the most recent and noteworthy Greek short film production. Of 168 films submitted, 41 films were selected to be included in the Competition. Most of the films are independent productions, among which there are four documentaries and four animation features. Newcomers, young filmmakers, as well as many directors that have already had their feature length debut will attend to present their new steps in short featured films.

Fifty seven films from 47 countries will be screened in this year’s international programme. It is worth mentioning that the multi-awarded filmmaker Neritan Zinxhiria will participate in the section with his newest film «The time of a young man about to kill». It is an Albanian-Italian co-production by the famous Italian actress Valeria Gollino and Terry Gilliam’s Italian producer Gabrielle Oricchio, who discovered Zinxhiria some years ago here in Drama.
