It’s All About Wanderlust
Stefania's Column

Two days ago, I read an article entitled, as Greece is more than words; it is quite strange how words can overflow your soul with emotions. As a lover of writing, I decided to focus the concept of July’s column around the idea of Greece, the reasons why I am so in love with this country. Since I remember myself, I was always proud of the achievements of Greece, but mostly of the turbulent history and the rich culture of hers. The Greek people tend to be passionate about what they love, so am I. At the end of the day, Greece is all about the beauty; a microcosm of destinations unfolds in front of your eyes. Are you ready to fall in love with my country? The Romans loved it here, as did the Crusaders, and so did the Venetians and the Turks. You must be wondering why all these people fell in love with my country, and the answer was given from the famous American writer Henry Miller; it takes a lifetime to discover Greece, but it takes a moment of fall in love with her!Undeniably, it is difficult to describe Greece, as Greece is more than words. Grab a picture from one of the six thousands islands of Greece and you will understand what I mean! Millions of emotions are born just from a glimpse of a Greek landscape. Greece has offered much as a nation to the world in terms of its history, its civilizations, and its achievements. If you ask me which is my favorite place in Greece, I will never be able to have one single answer because Greece emits this spectacular, mysterious and breathtaking atmosphere that challenges me to fall in love with her again and again. One has to indulge in new pursuits beyond the mainstream and look with a different glance around so that he can remember what has been forgotten; to live and appreciate simple moments in a real treasure of unspoilt nature like Greece. From an afternoon promenade to the charming neighborhood of Plaka and a cultural night under the moonlight at the Odeon of Herodus Atticus to an excursion to the Greek islands and a mountaineering visit to the birthplace of the Olympian Gods, it is definite that you will feel blessed in such a beautiful country.Quoting Rik Freeman, a writer from Living Postcards, “…And so, back to the question, why Greece? It is simple, Greece has always been there, and no matter what it will always be there, we just need to see a little more of it, that’s all…”. We have to be united with each other, and fight for pure goodness, and never lose faith on what we believe in. #UnitedGreece

At the end of the day, it’s all about wanderlust, isn’t it?
